**My Life**

We are on our way to Hawaii right now!  We have a 9 day stretch on the boat, which means 8 days of class because we get one day off.  We had two Easter’s because we crossed the international dateline.  We had class on both of our Easter Sundays.  We had a huge test today and tomorrow we get the day off but they are making us wake up at 8 to take a group pic.  Ugh.  So I have been sick for 11 days now.  It could have been from going from 115 degrees in Cambodia to 30 in china, but it has a lot to do with the lack of warm clothes I had.  I had a fever the first couple days and before Japan we had to walk by some camera that checks our temperatures, I passed.  Now I have a really awesome cough.  I can’t laugh or talk without dying from coughing.  I can’t breathe when I start coughing because there is so much stuff blocking it.  I have the most ridiculous and disgusting cough and I love when, like today during our test, I start to cough, almost die and then see the girl next to me cover her mouth and nose so she doesn’t get SAARS.  I went to the doc the day we left J-Pan and he gave me Clariton and Sudafed.  I have 3 claritions left and no Sudafed and I am still dying.  Isn’t clariton used to prevent allergies?
The sea has been really rough the past couple of days.  I had to take my sea sick patch off because it gave me a rash and gave me the worst cotton mouth ever.  I wanted to vom yesterday in class; it is on the top deck of the front of the boat.  Worst place ever.  Last night they made an announcement saying to stay in our rooms and when walking around hold on to the hand rails.  Haha I wore my life jacket when I was studying.  It has been raining all day now and no one is allowed outside because it is too windy.  They even cancelled pub night, they never cancel pub night!
I should probably study or something but I’m going to watch a movie and nap!  If anyone wants something from Hawaii or Guat you have to tell me right now.  Byeee

**J-Pan**

We got to Japan 2 days after China, we were all so exhausted and I was sick.  I did nothing for the 2 days on the boat except I went to my classes.  We went to Hiroshima the first day.  It was a very intense museum and really hit hard.  They had burnt skin and finger nails, in a display box, of a child.  They told a lot about all the kids that were killed and even had some of the uniforms that were on them.  There was actually hair in a box too.  Every mayor of Hiroshima that has been in office since the atomic bomb writes a letter every month to the countries that still have nuclear weapons.  The mayor will continue to do so until all nuclear weapons are gone.  Outside of the museum is a flame that burns all day every day.  The flame will never stop burning until nuclear weapons are gone.  So there was no where to eat around our boat and the taxis cost a million dollars so we went to the Hyatt.  A $50 buffet later made us wanna shoot ourselves!  But we did steal a good 2 bags of m&ms.  They shouldn’t leave that kind of stuff outside of the ice cream if they don’t want it gone.  So Jess and I each got a bowl full, put it in a napkin and went to the boat =)
This morning we were SUPPOSED to leave at 9:00.  Well our dumbass neighbors (Emily and Natalie) went out the night before and didn’t wake up until about 10 min before we were leaving and they hadn’t packed yet.  Megan and Jess wanted to leave without them but we waited and I just made fun of them the whole time, I think they were still drunk.  We finally got tickets for the train to go to Tokyo and left.  Well I had to buy Emily and me a ticket because her card wouldn’t work at the ATM.  I ended up buying reserved seat tickets which are apparently a million dollars more than the others!  Whatever, we just slept.  Jess and Megan are obsessed with Hard Rock so we had to go.  Another $50 down and we went and tried to find the place we were staying.  Not one person knew where it was and the addresses are so weird, but we finally figured it out!  We made a reservation for 2 so we had to sneak the other girls in!  Well this place ended up being apartments that are for like week or month leases, but I got a promotion and got it for two nights!  It was amazing!  It was a studio apartment with a kitchen, washer and dryer and the most confusing light switches ever.  I swear these people are so high tech it’s annoying because we can’t work any of it!  Who turns on the shower with a button on the wall??  The girls didn’t end up having to sneak in which was nice but we had to buzz them in every time!  Well this stupid girl was with us and had to talk to every damn person she saw and then ask them where we should go and then we had to go where they said to go.  OMG I wanted to blow my brains out.  She made us go to some stupid ass restaurant where Megan and Emily got 5 carrot sticks for $10!  Hahaha  Jess and I split sushi and had to sit at our own table and were the most obnoxious people ever.  We were so pissed at that stupid girl that we wanted to ruin her life.  And first of all, she wasn’t even invited, her friends ditched her (I know why), and she knew Emily cause they are sorority sisters but hadn’t talked to her the whole semester until now.  We wanted to go out after dinner so started walking down the street.  The bars in J-Pan are really weird.  You almost have to be invited into the clubs and the people just sat outside waiting for people to come.  So we get to a bar and he says we will get our first round free.  So he calls someone, takes us up an elevator and into a “Sexy show.”  All the girls were in crazy prostitute clothes and just started laughing.  We left right when we saw the girls and it basically another stupid American moment.  We went to a club called Lime.  No one was there.  We talked to 2 old guys who are from the US and they gave us a few places/things to do.  While stupid girl goes off with some guy and he also gives her stuff to do, so we HAVE to do it.  She ended up doing those things alone.  He was also supposed to call her to go to dinner the last night and he didn’t.  haha
We went to the biggest ferris wheel in the world and the Toyota show room.  We rode in smart cars.  They just took us around some track and it was weird.  I tried to hold the steering wheel straight as it was turning, just to see what happens, but I got to scared and didn’t really want to buy a car.  They have some weird looking cars that will get to America in like 15 years.  I never want to drive any of them!  They had some sweet ass race cars and go karts and I really wanted one!  We went to dinner at a restaurant that one of the guys told us was a haunted house.  But it was more of creepy jail.  It was in the basement of a building.  There was not much light either.  The waitress put Emily and I in handcuffs and took us to our “cell.”  There were individual cells for each group and it had a sliding metal door, like jail.  They were all dressed in prison outfits.  It was weird but a lot of fun!  We got the weirdest drinks ever!  Jess and I shared one and it was good and just had a fake light up ice cube in it, but Megan and Natalie’s was so weird!  They got a beaker with alcohol on the bottom and then cotton candy was on the top.  They got another glass of juice or something that they had to poor over the cotton candy!  It was really good but so weird!  That other thing got a drink with a needle thingy in it and it was filled with jelly and she had to squeeze it into her drink.  We tried to go out again this night but there was nothing going on!  We took a cab back to the place we were at the night before but it was dumb so Emily, girl and I went home and I talked on the internet all night!  =)
We went to a street famous for its shopping.  It wasn’t very impressive except for the most killer Nike’s ever.  So I left my life savings at that store.  Jess, Megan and I had to go to Yokohoma because they made me volunteer to show some Japanese students around the boat.  Turns out the students were 90 years old.  Ugh.
We went to Mt. Fuji the last day and it was snowing!!  It was so cold and I had nothing to wear.  My wonderful mother yelled at me for packing a jacket and gloves and stuff.  Yeah.  We didn’t go to the top but whatever.  Dad, you’ll be happy to know Megan, Jess and I did the KSU in front of it because we were both wearing K-State shirts and found it necessary.  We went on some cable car thing, I don’t know what we were supposed to do but I got some candy.  We went on a 15 min boat ride (what’s the point?) on some lake.  The lake was actually really pretty!  Anyways this was a day of sleeping on a bus.  We were on the bus more than half the day!  We got back late, Japan customs are so strict so we had to stand there forever!

**China**

We had another 2 days in between Vietnam and China.  We finally got our laundry done, it had been 27 days!  Anyways, the first day in Japan, Jess, Britt and I met with Britt’s Uncles business partners.  They were both from Hong Kong and wanted to show us everything.  Hong Kong was amazing!!!  Seriously the tallest buildings ever and there are SO many!!  They were all so close to each other it was unreal!  We went to a few markets that day and we were supposed to go to some place where you can see all of Hong Kong, but it was way to cloudy/smoggy.  We went to dinner at some weirdo place because we were told to go to some place and ended somewhere completely different!  We wanted to go out that night but ended up on the wrong island!  It was an annoying night but it was still fun.  Natalie and Emily ordered wine at dinner, it was brought in a clay tea pot looking thing and little tiny cups.  It was so disgusting!  OMG I don’t know how they even drank it!  They ended up having to just take shots because they couldn’t just sip on it!  We ran out of soda and no place but America gives refills so they started chasing it with their food! Bahaha
We headed to Beijing the second day and Jess and I were so proud of ourselves!  We only took public transportation and we felt so cool after we figured it all out without dying!  Except the stupid back I brought broke so that was really annoying but whatever!  We went to a market before we went to the airport and ended up getting a million purses!  I think we got 10 bags for $125 or something crazy like that!  When we finally got to Beijing it was pretty late so we went to find a Pizza Hut but couldn’t so we ordered a pizza through room service and went to bed.
The next morning we went to the Olympic grounds and saw the Water Cube and the Bird’s Nest.  We felt like huge dumbasses because it probably took us a good hour trying to figure out where to buy tickets and then the entrance!  No one spoke English in China!  The cube was really cool but I wanted to like touch the water or something but they wouldn’t let us get close!  Lame.  It was really cold outside so when we went to the Bird’s nest we wanted to die!  They didn’t even have the track out, it was just a huge field.  We did get to imitate every asian pose we could.  These people are nuts.  They do the weirdest crap in their pictures, so we did it to fit in!  We went to the Pearl Market after which is where I spent more money than I have ever seen!  I have enough purses to last me a lifetime.  Got some Nike’s and pearl’s and I don’t even remember what else!  But Jess and I BOTH had to buy huge duffle bags because we bought too much crap!
We went to the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs on our 3rd day.  The Ming Tombs was the most pointless thing I have ever seen in my life.  There is nothing there but some gates and buildings.  All the tombs are a million miles away up some mountains.  The Great Wall was the worst workout of my life and it doesn’t help that I haven’t been to a gym in years!  The stairs were all oddly shaped and different sizes.  We had to go to the peak because you are considered a hero if you make it!  Yeah, I am a hero.  And I only made Jess stop like twice because I couldn’t breathe and thought I was going to die.  Every single Asian wanted our pictures and I wanted to kick them.  Annoying!  Going down was almost harder because they have a lot of slopes with no steps or anything so we had to literally run down them.  But me being the coolest person ever busted my ass on the Great Wall.  My great new fake Uggs I got apparently don’t have traction and I slipped and EVERY person had their cameras out and started taking pictures.  You might be able to google “Stupid American that fell” and find me!  Everyone just thought it was the funniest thing of their lives.  I broke my pinky nail.  It hurt.
And then we went to the craziest acrobat show ever!  It was amazing.  I seriously had my mouth wide open the whole show and was just waiting for one of the kids to die!  They were doing the most unreal stuff ever!  Their bodies bent in more ways than I ever imagined!  It was really cool and we had a really fun time!  We went to the show after searching for McDonald’s for 6 hours!  No one knew what we were talking about and then Jess drew the arches and they were like ooooo macdoonalds.  Lol funniest thing ever!  We went to the tallest hotel in the world on the last day.  It was way to foggy/smoggy to seen anything so it was stupid.  Then we rode the Maglev train.  It’s the only train like it in the world and literally floats.  It takes 4 hours to get to Beijing from Shanghai and the train would get you there in 30 min!  It was cool and what not but we went to some airport that was a 7 minute ride, literally went to the next platform and went right back.  Stupid.  This is also the day that I got SAARS.  Or maybe just the bird flu!

**Nam and the Bodia**

We had two days at sea/school between Thailand and Vietnam.  My parents came to visit me and we went to Cambodia!  It was so freaking hot I wanted to DIE!  The first night we went out with my mom’s friend, Joe.  Emily, Megan and Natalie came with us and we went to one of Joe’s favorite restaurant.  Some of it was really good but the squid made me want to barf, and I think we ate snails or something gross like that.  They were actually good though.  We went to some western bar after dinner.  It was like cowboy themed or something but we had a few drinks and mom and dad were being old and kept complaining about the speakers hurting their ears.  As if it matters for mom anyway since she is deaf anyway.  We made them take some blow jobs to feel better about themselves.  My daddy was so happy! =) We sang with the band and requested the most random songs ever!  But, we didn’t stay out too late because Kath and Jeff just aren’t party animals now-a-days!
We left for Cambodia the next morning and travelled all day.  We went on a boat ride(mom slept the whole time) to see floating homes.  They were little beat up houses, all connected, and floating on water!  It was weird and I’m sure they loved tourist coming next to their houses to look at how poorly they live.  Later that night we went to an orphanage that was started by two alumni of Semester at Sea.  The kids were all older but I think they were lying about their ages the whole time!  One of the girls who is 15, and in 5th grade took me around and showed me her room.  She stayed with a bunch of other girls and they slept in hammocks on the 3rd floor.  They had no AC and there room was used for teaching and stuff like that too!  I ended up hanging out with her and her friend the majority of the night.  I think they were making fun of me the whole night, but who woulda known!?  They obviously noticed my sweating problem because one of the girls started fanning me!  When we were leaving the girls would not let me go!  She was seriously pulling on me and then just wrapped around my body so I couldn’t go anywhere.  It was really sad.
The next morning we went to a Russian market and then the killing fields.  (The place where the Khmer Rouge killed at least 200,000 people)  We saw a large stupa with hundreds of skulls in it.  We saw the huge holes where they threw bodies in.  Some were buried alive.  They just trucked people in and would kill or torture them right away.  When they had too many people to kill they would strip them all naked and put them in rooms with no light so they couldn’t see anything.   It was crazy thinking about how recent it actually was.  There were literally still bones in random places.  We went to Security Prison 21 (S-21).  They left the rooms in the conditions they were left in and we saw cots and torturing devices.  Some of the buildings had pictures of all the people killed and there were a few skulls as well.  After that we went to Angkor Wat for 2 minutes!  We went back the next day and spent way too much time there!  Not to mention it was 114 degrees!  We went on a boat ride on the Mekong Delta.  The first place we went to dad and I took the most awful shot ever, I think it was sugar cane??  Then went somewhere else and ate lunch.  They had a real python and people watched them kill it and a few guys drank its blood and ate it.  Sick.
That night we had a BBQ on the boat and my irresponsible father lost his pass to get on the boat so he couldn’t enjoy the great food we have on the boat.

**Thailand**

Well 4 countries ago I was in Thailand!  The first day we went to an orphanage started by one guy who found a baby on the street and people started bringing him kid after kid!  There were over 200 kids and they were newborns to whatever.  They can stay there as long as they need too, some even go to college and live there!  And if they don’t end up making anything from themselves they are always welcome to live and work at the orphanage!  It was really nice finally hearing about a place that doesn’t just end things with kids when they turn 18. A lot of the kids are abandoned children that they have no records of so Thailand doesn’t consider them citizens.  They can never be adopted and can never become a citizen!   Jess and I played with the babies the whole time!  They don’t have diapers, just rags literally shoved down their pants.  I think two girls got peed on!  Haha
That night we went to a restaurant called “Cabbages and Condoms!”  It was in a resort called “birds and Bees” it was pretty cool and a huge rainforest type thing with random creepy signs everywhere!  They also had huge (real) bunnies just hanging out outside of the restaurant, I played with them!  Anyways the whole restaurant was covered in condoms, they had a huge condom tower and Jess and I took a million and we don’t really know why, but decided we should hide them from our parents before they came!  Lol  They also had a Santa that was made of condoms and random people made of condoms and birth control.  Freaks.
We went to the SriRacha Tiger Zoo the next day.  We saw a tiger show at the begging that just pissed me off because they were obviously abused from the way they reacted to the trainers when they just held out their hand or something.  It made my day when one of them tried to attack one of the trainers! =) We went to an elephant show after that but we went to a better one the last day!  I got to hold a baby tiger, kind of, they put a towel on you and make you hold up a bottle of milk so that it comes on your lap and you sit for 10 seconds and feed the tiger and get pictures taken like you actually held it!
Our port was called “Laem Chabang” we renamed it “Lame Chabang” because the place had NOTHING but a mall!  I don’t know why we have only been in like 3 ports that actually have things to do in them!  Jess and I got 15 DVDs for $20!  They were all pirated and a lot of them weren’t even out of theatres yet!  Most of them work but not all!
I went to “Koh Samet” which is an island off of Thailand, about  a 30 min boat ride.  I didn’t know anyone on the trip but we had tons of fun!  It was a white sand beach and SO beautiful!  I would go back any day!  Our rooms were little townhouses right on the beach and they had outside showers!  Sarah (my roomie) and I got beers at 10am and sat in the ocean pretty much all day!     Went to dinner at some rando place that the guys had found and talked to the owner.  It was all traditional Thai food and I was still at the point of not trying things so I didn’t eat!  We went to a fire show after dinner, crazy, then went to a karaoke bar!  Travis and I got distracted by a puppy and the others went on without us!  Travis left me and I walked to the karaoke place.  I asked the girl at the bottom if she saw a bunch of Americans go in and she pointed up the stairs.  So I start looking around and notice that I was surrounded by sex workers.  That was sweet, but I found all the girls and hung out there for a little and walked back.  The next morning we went on a banana boat ride.  Seriously just wanted to have a fun time and the little 13 yr old kid driving us wanted us to die.  I’m thinking we got whipped off a good 15 times in 30 min.  Some girl lost her sunglasses, Braxton almost lost his balls, and I was sore for 2 days!  It rained like crazy I sat inside the pavilion playing with another puppy.  It was the saddest looking thing in the world!  She had a broken front leg that obviously was never going to get fixed and she couldn’t have been older than 3 months.  So sad.  She gave me fleas and I had bites all over me for a couple days!
The last day we went to an elephant thing.  We saw traditional dancing and a mock boxing match and sword fight.  We went to the elephant show and it was amazing!  The elephants played basketball and soccer, threw darts, painted, hula hooped and other random things!  I want a lil baby elephant.
